Surendra is a PhD student co-supervised by Susan but primarily supervised by Martin Steinbauer (La Trobe University), with an external collaborator in Candice Lyons (Plant Protection Research Institute, Stellenbosch).
His working thesis title is: BIOGEOGRAPHY AND POPULATION BIOLOGY OF LEPTOSPERMUM LAEVIGATUM (MYRTACEAE) AND ASSOCIATED INSECTS FOR BIOLOGICAL CONTROL
Studies with Susan include an assessment of genetic diversity and structure of the species in its historic native range on the eastern coast of Australia.
